Robert Joseph Acord arrived yesterday at 12:35 pm. He weighed 6 lbs 12ozs and was 19 1/2 inches long.  He is named for his grandfather and great grandfather Acord (Robert) and his great Grandmother Swain (Joseph).

We are so blessed and happy that our little man is here safe and healthy.

Thursday

I went to both doctor's this monring.  Little man is 7.5 lbs and doing great; my fluid level on the other hand was very low normal at 6.5.  The doctors decided to err on the precautionary side and take him on Thursday, April 29, 2010.  I can hardly believe that he will be here in just two days!!!

Appointment Update

I went to the doctor this morning to check my AFL and make sure little man is doing OK.  My fluid level is down to 8.5, but the doctor is not worried since I am almost 38 weeks and the little man is doing great.  I go back on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 for my last NST and to check little man's growth.

I actually got a peek at his face.  He did not stay still long enough to get a picture, but he reminds me a lot of Addy Bear.  He has a head full of hair as well.  I am so ready for this baby boy to get here so I can meet him.

37 week update

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 37 week check up and NST.  Everything went well. Little man is doing great and passed the NST with flying colors.  I am still having contractions about every 5-7 minutes but they are not getting stronger or causing cervical change, so now we just wait until he decides to come or May 3rd.

I go to the specialist tomorrow to check my AFL.

Yet Another Trip

I went on Friday for the twice a week NST.  The NST noted that I was having contrations every 3 minutes, so they sent me over the hospital for further monitoring and to get a shot of Terbutaline to slow down/stop hte contractions.  After 3 shots in an hour and no change in the contractions or my cervix, the doctor sent me home.  I guess it is just wait and see.

I have decided that the little man thinks it is a joke and wants to see how uncomfortable he can make mommy before he gets here.

36 Week Check Up

We went this morning to the doctor.  My fluid level was 12.8 and little man's estimated weight is 6.5 lbs. During the NST, little man did great and I had no contractions.  Since I am 36 weeks and everything is looking NORMAL, they took me off bedrest!!!!  I still have to drink a gallon of water a day, but the lying down part is over.   Now it is just time to wait until his arrival in 20 days!!

Bedrest

The doctor told me yesterday that beginning this weekend that I could move around a bit since I will be 36 weeks and they are doing NST twice a week.  I am so excited to get to get out of the house even if it is for short trips twice a week.  I am already planning a trip to Target this weekend.  Who knew that you would actually miss going grocery shopping.

I will still have to remain on limited bedrest for the remainder of the pregnancy but just being able to make a trip once or twice a week out of the house that does not require a doctor's visit is a great improvement.  I am now just counting down the days until he arrives.

35 weeks

I went to see both of my doctor's today for my 35 week checkup.  First, I went to see the Maternal Fetal Doctor to check my fluid level and the baby's well being.  My fliud level is holding steady at around 9 and little man is doing great.  I went directly from that appointment to see Dr. S for my bi-weekly non-stress test (NST) which monitors contractions and the baby.  We both passed with flying colors.  Little man did exactly what he was supposed to and I only had two contractions duirng the test which Dr. S was not worried about.  I go back on Friday for the other NST.

I am getting very anxious and ready to meet my little man.  I only have 27 days unitl I get to hold him!!
